I would appreciate your comments on these two knives. I am having difficulty deciding which one to get.

Unless your Pacific or GB is a folder known as a "Sebbie", you probably won't get much play on your inquiry :p

Id go for the Pacific, Iv got both knives and the Pacific is in my view a much nicer blade. The build quality and materials are the same but the ergos and bowie blade shape make the Pacific better i think. (im a sucker for bowies in general though :D)
There is small differences like the staggered serations, more pronounced finger choil and notched handle that make it look and feel better all round.
Iv not had any problems with either knife other than a bit of chipping to the edge when they were new, that seems to have stopped now they have had a few shapenings.

I think you will be pleased with either knife but the Pacific gets my vote

Love both! but after receiving the Pacific I would say that would be my first grab choice. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get out in the field to back up my comment yet. Or test out the new Pacific. But hopefully in the near future.

This buyers problem runs along the lines of the same choice for a Project I or a Project II. "spear point or clip point" both are excellent users and have excellent proven field ability ...just boils down to blade style preference!

My over all recommendation to you is find a CRK dealer and fit a Chris Reeves Knife to your hand and intended usage needs.

best of luck,

Decisions like this are always hard to make. I have a 7" GB and happen to love the knife, but rarely have use for a knife that big. Just got a Neil Roberts and love it. However, I won't sell my GB anytime soon either....What most end up doing is, deciding on one, then end up buying the other down the road. Sorry, but that's just the way it goes.;)

I have both and as a first large CRK knife I would also recommend the Pacific. It's a tad more ergonomic to my hands and I think fits a variety of uses better than the GB.

Just my 2 cents,

The GB is wonderful if you are going to use it as a tool. The spear point has a lot of strength and would be great in a survival situation. Personally, I haven't found the need for a 7 inch blade in my world. I prefer the Pacific. The handle just meshes with my hand (and I have a large hand), the Bowie point is perfect for piercing and there is that handy glass braker on the end. Either way,I think you will be happy because both of the knives will suite your needs.

Aside from the grip, which IMO is better on the pacific, the biggest functional difference between the two knives is in the tip. Pacific has a clip point, which is good for picking and piercing, but the GB has a spear point, which is stronger and better for digging and prying.
Good luck, man. They're both great knives, IMO you can't loose here.
