Hi Everybody!

Just got my hands on a green blade clippoint Specwar, and was wondering if anyone knows how many there was made of that one?
It has the mil spec mark on the blade.

I think this is a very nice knife, much more comfortable than i would have imagined from pictures.

It is also much thicker than my Commander, is that because this is a 99 and my Commander is a 2000 or are the Specwars still thicker?

So if you guys know anything about this knife I would like to know it all.

Thanks in advance!

The "Mil-Spec" Commanders and Spec-wars are an oddity. I know they exist, but have never actually seen one.

If you do a search on the Emerson forum using "Mil-Spec", you'll probably hit on the small amount that is known.

Kniven,
No idea how many were made. Yours is a pretty early one. The reason for the diference in thickness is dur to it's age. The new ones are just like the Commander that you have.

The SpecWar is a cool knife. I tend to think it gets overlooked a bit in the line up but it is a great design. Especially the handle.

Take care,
Derek

Derek,
No doubt. The handle is what I like the most. It is my favorite Emerson Knives model.

Hi Derek!

Its fun to know that it is a early one anyway, and that it is not as usual as the black or bb ones!
I totaly agree with you that it is one heck of a cool knife, I to like the handle most.
I think that I will order a new clippoint in black to, and keep the green one unused!

Anyway, take care!
