I saw on 'the other site' that the green box marble's are fakes. I bought one of these, a long time ago, not knowing about the REAL Marbles...
My question is...Does anyone know anything about these fakes (steel? original prices? etc.) would it be a decent user? Should I leave it in the drawer (where it has been for years)?
I'm not overly concerned since I didn't pay much for it, more curious, than anything.
TIA,

I haven't played marbles since 7th grade, but I seem to remember that the ones we bought came in bags, not green boxes. Usually mesh type or plastic. Sometimes cheap cloth. I never was lucky enough to get one made out of steel from the store. Most of our "steelies" were old ball bearings. (At least mine were.) Pretty good for shattering the aggie or favorite cat's eye of your arch-rival!

ok....
My guess is that your Marble's in the green box is as genuine as anyone's. I've seen a few at one of the local gun shows.

Look to the other forum for the answer to your question which seems to be identical to the question you are asking here.

All of my round marbles are gone...shot out of my slingshot! 7th grade WAS fun!
The last reply that I saw on the other forum was that the folders were ok, didn't mention much about the FB or steel types. I asked here cause that's where I usually hang out...but thanx for the help! Will check back there soon.
