Green corrosion on brass guards.

I know knives shouldn't be stored in leather sheaths but they are... is there any way to keep the brass from turning green?

Yes, regular maintenance, and polishing.

I'd ask about this in the maintenance & tinkering sub-forum. Those guys will know if there is a suitable product for protecting brass from tarnishing.
