First, I have seen 1 or 2 green FRN handled enduras out there. Can I get a little more details on them? how old ? how rare?

Second, this may sound like the dumbest most NFG question ever but, is there any way on earth to get a black coating on my existing spydercos, like the endura?

Third, if anyone has a green handle endura PLEASE E_MAIL ME!!!!
I want to buy it very very badly!

Thanks

Sounds like its been made in the early 90s dude! A batch of Green Enduras were given to US servicemen during the Gulf War.. If you can get hold of this, its a good collector's item.. ;)

So I lost out on night parka and overpants, my tan desert boots, and a couple other goodies which I was never issued, and now I find out I also lost out on GREEN ENDURAS?? Of course I was just a REMF MP doing Iraqi EPW mobile babysitting, but still...

I carried my Buck Scoutlite to Saudi. Not a bad knife, it was my EDC in the late eighties. I still have it and it ain't for sale.

But I too would LOVE an OD green Endura!

I had a green Endura, green Delica, and still have a couple of green ladybugs. Wish I had my Endura back. Its in good hands though, gave it to a very good friend :D You can get the blades black coated but I don't know if they can do it with the blade still in the handle. You may want to call Bodycote at 828-327-7442 and ask them. I am planning on sending in some of my Spydie blades that I can take out of the handle and getting them coated :) Man, that green Endura would have looked cool with a black blade!

I want to get my enduras black coated , it would look awesome on a Green Handle. Is there any to take the blade off the handle of the endura? Maybe punch out the pins?

Look at the exchange, under Production Knives for sale, one just sold for $45.00. It's under "Rare Spydercos"

I tried to buy it yesterday , but was late by about a hour.

I have already found one and I am negotiating a deal.

I tried to buy it too. Have a green Delica, looking for an Endura, let me know if you run across another.

Guns&Knives,

My understanding of the Red checkered Enduras that are out there are a after-market application of the Red Checkers and the White Spyder. From what I'ver heard there was a large distributor that didn't want to get stuck with an over inventory of the "Old" Enduras with the plastic clip. So they came up with this after market application to get rid of what they had.

That is very interesting.
Thank you.
According to this then anyone selling these "limited production" (implying that it was Spyderco's), is unashamedly misrepresenting their product for sale.

Caveat Emptor?
