I finaly got my P-tac finished this morning :D:thumbup:

It's got OD green G-10 scale and full back spacer, STR Ti framelock, T.K. reground blade and a Ti clip with green G-10 kicker done by me.

I kept the satin finish a low 400 grit finish as it wears a bit better than a 600 or 800 satin. It still looks pretty nice and glossy just with more visible sanding marks.

Sorry for the crappy pics but the weather here is foggy with totally flat light just now. I'll try and get some better pics in the next day or two.

I think it defo. makes a nice addition to the rest of my EDC kit. :p

Haze-very nice photos, ceterus peribus. The Persian is officially added to the list. How is the deployment on the Persian? I surmise with the design, a wave would be difficult. Maybe the next Persian will have a hidden wave.

The Persian can be wrist flicked open really easily and the thumb disk obviously works well too. :p

I personally have mixed feeling about the wave. It is handy and a great idea but when I was trained to use
knives I was always tought to make sure you get as close to 100% deploy rates on folders as possible. As
much as I hate to say the wave is not 100%. I always use a thumb disk/stud for folders personally.

may be a stupid question..
But, Haze..
How difficult is it to get the materials and DIY? g10 scales in particular.

That persian is amazing, btw..

Up to Par Haze!
Ok, I like the Black scales but those other color scales just set those Emersons off!

Thanks for the nice words guys, I'm pretty pleased with this one. It's nice do one of my own knives rather than other peoples once in a while. :p:thumbup:

It's not really that hard but there is more to it than you migh think. I have a back ground in materials, fabrication and design though so this sort of stuff is my sort of thing.

Shaping the scales, drilling the holes, getting the counter sinks on the inside right (for the stop pin and screws that come through the Ti liners) and getting it all together with out damaging the original parts you still want to use can take a bit of practice, but it's obviosly not impossible. ;)

Nothing beats just getting a bit of G-10 and giving it a go, if you ever need any help you can just ask.:)

The Persian can be waved as is with practice. Haze: that thing is BEAUTIFUL!

Jeez, that knife is gorgeous. I never liked the look of the Persian till now. Very, very nice, Haze. You do amazing work.

Haze,
That is just about Persian perfection.
I'm not going to unsheath my Persian right now, it might get jealous.
I know I am!
Did I hear "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful"?
More pics later?
More drool on my keyboard.

Sweet looking blade you got there Haze!
I thougt SRT wasn't doing anymore framelock conversions?

Haze, any recommendations were to buy a Persian? Blade HQ is were I usually buy my knives. It's a few minutes from my house. However, they don't have one in stock.

I got that Persian done a while back, it had been sitting about my shop needing finished for several months.

I think folks had some luck at "worriors and wonders" in Canada, I don't know of anywhere else other than places like e-bay.

I was in Warriors yesterday and all the A-100's were sitting there in full colours!
They looked great!

Nice work dude.....

I must admit the charm of the Persian has always escaped me. Such a long, thin blade..... looks hella delicate and all that.

I can imagine its great for slicing 'perps' and other low-lifes but does it have any other abilities?

I must confess I have trouble moving past the absolute versatility of the 8 and 12 (and 13 to a slightly less extent due to the super sharp tip). Surely the two most practical Emersons ever produced.

I would also like to try the 10 at some point.

If you respect that point on the P-tac it is actually a very usefull knife indeed. The handle is one of the most comfortable of any knife I own in any grip. I have used them for kitchen duties, BBQ duties, bushcraft, MA training and just as an EDC all with great results.

The 8 and 12 are the two best knives EKI has on offer IMO but the Persian is just one of those knives that I have a real thing for. The over all looks of it combined with the ergos and nice upswept blade just do it for me, add to that the fact it's NOT waved and it's pretty much everything I want in a knife. :D:thumbup:
