I did the work about a week ago and have gotten some use out of it since (so it's not fresh and perfect, but looks better anyways). Here's a couple pics. I'll get some more up later  it's got a 600 grit hand rubbed finish on it. I like the "rough" satin look. It wears nicely.

Mmmmm, me likey the satin... :o :D:thumbup: Very nice! Looks good with the green linen grips. :)

I thinned the edge a little with a coarse stone, cleaned the burrs out with some 1200 grit carbide paper and fine honed it on a strop loaded with alluminum oxide. It's not the finest edge, but it's a beast. Tears through EVERYTHING. I don't know how much use I'll get out of it. A little heavy for any work I'd need it for. My SHBM's and Eu-Mag are more than substancial enough. It's fun to have a monster blade thoguh :D

Thanks guys! I hadn't seen a green linen stripped yet so I felt compelled. I hate OD coatings too :p. It's a sweet blade.

Looks fantastic, and your pictures could be the push i need to strip my Mistress naked:cool:

It's easy really.....I just stripped it twice (once over real quick and to soften it up and a second time to do clean up of the first) I edged the micarta with a razor blade then clipped it off at the base of the scales all around then masked off the scales so I could polish up the handle. I then took a foam sanding brick with nekkid foam ends and used those sides to polish the edge around the scales. The foam was forgiving so it conformed around the scales to clean up the crannies. I then took the same foam brick and sanded the spine and the flat of the blade on both sides. All and all it took me the better of a few hours or so. The edging was the most time consuming part....I was adamant about not marring the micarta in any way. It has yet to feel the kiss of sand paper ;)

Looks nice indeed! OD coatings rule, though...

Different strokes for different folks :p at first I only liked tan (I still love it) but then I acquired a taste for black on certain knives. Now sage has really grown on me. The toughest coating is tan never the less. I've always been a fan of D/C and satin....I'm a little bit more for D/C though. I like the way it wears. Looks pretty neat

Looks good. I will be stripping my FBM very very soon.

Looks great!

(and I'm with you on the OD coating! I'm thinking that TankerA would look nice in satin  )

I really like the way any of the FBM line looks naked. You've done a very fine job. Thanks for sharing.:D

Looks great!!! I did the same to mine...
Maybe we should start a nekkid green linen club. :D :D

A couple shots of my nekkid mistress...  :D

Sweet pics, thanks for sharing....there's something great about green linens on stripped, polished, or D/C blades.

Looks great!

I agree, I haven't seen a satin knife with laquered snakeskin before....
