Wondering if anyone can tell if the scales are the infamous Green Linen? The knife is mine but I can't remember if the seller told me if it was green linen or not.

Thanks for the help.

My vote would be "Yes". They look to be the same color as the CGFBM I just received today.

looks black to me.
the best way to tell is to oil it down, and see if you see any green.
I think many black micarta knives are accidentally dubbed as green linen.
I had a folder once with green linen that looked brown.
........
I'm not even sure ANY ergos were ever given green linen handles.

A huge number of the E-handle Busse's had green/black canvas micarta. They called it black canvas but theres a definite green hue to them when they are dry. It was the standard handle for them. All that have been through my hands either had green/black canvas, tan canvas, reddish tan canvas. I've also seen black paper and snake skin micarta on a couple of customs.

I've never seen a green linen e-handle, unless it was a custom.

Edit: I looked at the larger picture, definitely canvas, identical to the three I've had in the past.

I would really like to see a true Green Canvas micarta as an option. I Know your basic black and tan have been around for a while.. tan obviously for out guys in the sand box is a good option.. But a real GREEN canvas would be great for those who "work" in the wooded/jungle areas. I was thinking about this a couple of days ago and then this post came up.
What about it Jerry?
Green canvas... a nice option :-)

Exactly what Leatherman said, it is black canvas, but those older knives had a green hue to them. The composition of the micarta probably isn't exactly the same as it is now days. I would guess it to be the exposed canvas threads that give it a lighter color. It is the same way on the old straight handle knives, they had a green hue to them also. They do darken up with use, but look lighter in color when dried out/unused. :D
