Green Micarta Inlay

Today I noticed a couple of Green Canvas Micarta 21's. The first was labeled as 'Green Canvas Micarta' by the reputable seller and the other was in a pic posted by Lone_Wolfe in another thread (it looked green to me).

So... Am I missing something? I don't recall seeing these before and a Google search turns up very little. Is the Green Micarta common? When was it offered? Is it an exclusive?

Thanks everyone! If someone can post a pic of a birth card, I'd appreciate it!

Mine wasn't green, it was a grey. It does have a green overtone, and CRK lists it as black. I've never seen a true green one, it might get me to warm up to micarta if I did.

ETA; Here a pic I took a bit go of it...

Ah. Thanks LW. I guess I was being an optimist. I do hope they are out there, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

Where did that image come from ?

You can see the normal looking micarta at the bottom edge. Looks like the flat of the inlay is all that looks greenish.
I'm thinking it was photoshopped, or maybe they tried to lightly dye the flats without getting it on the frame ???
Not really sure what's up with that, but don't think one left CRK that way.

It is listed and advertised as Green at the Arizona Knives site. I sent an email to them asking about the birth card and they said that they don't have it. My money says that they are just calling it 'green'. After reading the thread Cody bumped, it appears CRK never had a green Micarta inlay.

Thanks !
You can blow up the image there, and can tell the bottom edges aren't green.
Or at least it looks that way to me. Not sure what's up with that. Maybe someone tried lightly dying them, or it may be the lighting ??? Odd.

I believe they have a greenish cast in them but they are not really green. Besides, once you use that Micarta it'll eventually darken up and turn to black anyway..

Yup, I have seen at least one site advertise green micarta inlays.

I cannot state for certain that they do not exist (it seems probable that if CRK doesn't produce them, that some customizer has modified one), but I can say I received one that really looked green before I started handling it.

Regardless, green micarta exists...no question about it. Probably only CRK can state weather they ever inlaid a Sebenza with some;)

The problem with this pic is the threads are green. In typical Micarta, it's the resin that changes colour, not the linen or canvas. I have a green micarta Bark River, and it's the resin that's green, not the threads,

And then you wash them and they look new again. I love Micarta for that reason :)

As to weather this is green Micarta or not, just send CRK an email and ask. That simple.

When I bought my large Micarta lefty 21, it was listed as black Micarta, as was the large Micarta Insingo I bought at the same time.

I traded the Insingo for an old-pivot Zaan, so I cannot say for it, but my 21 has taken a greenish hue for the last 2 years that no amount of soap, alcohol or WD-40 will turn it back to the grayish-black it was when I bought it.

My two Micarta 25s have remained grayish-black throughout their lives though, and not turned greenish whatsoever. Thankfully. The "green" looks fine on my 21, but I want the 25s to stay grayish-black.
