I am thinking of getting the Mora military knife. (SS). The only place here that has it wants $20. If you have one,how do you like it for the bush/camping; and how is it to sharpen?(ie, does it take a good egde like the carbon ones ?)

Thanks,

Pete

I like it pretty well, not too big-not too small, and very easy to sharpen, and it holds an edge fairly well. I think the most frequent complaint is about the "issued" plastic sheath, so most folks get (or make) a replacement one made of Kydex or leather.

If you are talking about the Swedish Army Knife it is a better knife than a lot of the expensive knives its size. Mora stainless is as easy to sharpen and more flexible than a lot of peoples carbon steel. Search around, you should be able to get it for considerably less than 20$.

That maybe a good idea, since the place where I saw it at, is a leather and hide tannery place that sells leather and crafts stuff.

I think Ragnar has some "defects" that came with the military handle but with carbon. As far as I know, he is the only one with that knife. But, There stainless is good stuff.

i prefer the smaller handle of the #510 over the larger handle of the Swedish Military Mora - but if you have big hands than the Military Mora might suit you better
