Here is a bit of a different giveaway. This is a Green River blade to which I have affixed aluminum slabs.

I was worried that screw construction would be out of line so I consulted the mods. I was very kindly given a pass since
it is a giveaway and I thought Trad folks might like it. I think asking first helped a lot as well.

Now, this knife is meant to be a user. It's kinda purty here in the picture but aluminum will dull over time. Also, the
engraving is a bit rough if you look closely. You could set it on a shelf but it would make a fine carbon steel kitchen
knife or a good skinner. It *is* the "4 1/2 skinner blade". I've made a few for deer hunters I know who like them a lot.

I've heard Mora called the Opinel of fixed blades. While a Mora is a fine knife I think that Green River would be a better
candidate for that description. They are real slicers.

I don't know what response to expect for this but, you know what? I think anyone with over 200 posts in Traditional should
get an extra chance. It's a nice place to be.

A simple "I'm in" will work but... a picture you like, a joke, a saying, anything to make things more interesting would be
appreciated.

That's a great-looking knife Dave and I'm a great fan of this pattern. I'd be very glad to throw my hat in for this, and if luck should happen to smile upon me, I'll sponsor another fixed-blade giveaway by way of thanks. Thanks for the chance and good luck everyone.

Jack

I'd love a chance at this knife, thanks!

Here area a few pics from this years cow roundup.

Rounding up the cows.

Did some one mention Opinels?

Heating up the Irons.

The calves don't like the look of this Steel Toe!

If I win this, I will try to use it on the next Cow butchering I get in on.

I'm in, and the box comes with it? Not that will "win" this but it would cost less to ship without the nice scales.

Not an entry but very nice giveaway. I have never seen a Green River knife with slabs even remotely like this, but it looks great. Did you make the slabs yourself?

Awesome job on the aluminum handles. I would love a chance for this one. Thanks!

Here's a picture of a sad puppy

Not an entry as I doubt that blade will ever make it past customs in Singapore if I should be so lucky as to win it.
Nice blade though and I like the alu slabs. Very generous GAW.

I'm in, cheers for the GAW if I win (big if) the shipping's on me. Beautiful knife and a generous person!

I'm in! Thanks for the chance, love the scales this knife. I'd love to use this on my next deer so crossing my fingers! Here's a pic of my kiddos fishing off our dock

That is a great looking fixed Traditional. Don't have any Trad. fixed knives but would be very happy to give this one a good home. Pic of venison and onions W/garlic powder, soy sauce, and teryaki. I'm in. Thanks for a great GAW!

Wow, thanks for the compliments.

I made the slabs where I work as I'm a machinist. I picked the only Green River blade with straight lines on the handle to make it easy to reverse engineer. If anyone has a CAD file of any the other handles, or any knife CAD files I would love to play with them.

Now, as I've said, this knife isn't perfect. It might look better in the pic than in hand. The engraving ended up a little rough. We are busy now which limits the time I can put into personal work. When we slow down I'll have to make a couple more.

Dave, this is not an entry as I have a Green River knife in carbon steel already, just wanted to attest to the fact that these do make a great camp knife, kitchen knife. They take a razor sharp edge and folks I've seen first hand some of Dave's handiwork. He's a great member here in our community who contributes in many ways.

Thanks for the great giveaway Dave and good luck to all who entered.

Thanks (again) for the giveaway Dave
