Ive go some green rouge now and it seem to be very hard. It will not apply to leather very well at all. Any suggestions? Thanks

http://www.chefknivestogo.com/choxd4oz.html This comes in a squeeze bottle. The stuff you have just make a couple swipes on the leather like you would with an eraser. Less is more you don't have to cover the entire strop with a thick coat you want the leather to do its job the chromium oxide is just for a little added help.

If you have a wood-backed leather strop, try to watch from around 18:00.

Warming up leather helps.
Apply light coat on the leather.

Moisten the rouge 'stick' or the leather, or both, with a little bit of mineral oil. The compound will apply more easily that way. WD-40 works for this as well, but don't soak it too much. After it's on the leather, the compound can be more evenly distributed by rubbing it in with a little more oil, using a fingertip.
