I purchased one with plain blade directly from Emerson about 4 months ago and I do not think that they are that rare, just different.

Green-T Commanders are a regular production item and are available from EKI at the same price as a Black-T.
However, there is a Green-T Commander that is collectable. If it is dated '99 and has the word "Mil-Spec" lasered on the blade, you have a find. If that's the case, give me an email, we can talk.
