Green thread on Tomahawk Handles

What would be a nice green (shiney like a Greenhead Mallard) thread I could use to wrap a tomahawk handle. Used green linen already but is a little rough. I'm going for looks !

an iridescent green like that will be hard to achieve. Your best bet may be dying some kind of very smooth leather and then waxing it to a very shiny polish. Tandy's forest green should be about right. You could use some thinner leather cut into a 3/4ths inch strip and then crosswrap, or you can do a traditional leather grip sewn up with sinew or latigo lace.
 
nah, not really. Two or three spools I'd bet. That would be a whopping Six bucks in thread:)

I might try it actually. Dip in shellac afterwards or maybe beeswax
 
What about paracord with the inner strands removed so it lays flatter. They make all sorts of colors of paracord these days.
