top -- Bura jumps the gun. "I am shop foreman," he says, "so I will be the first to offer my blessings to Bena."

bottom -- Apprentice Batis offers his greetings. Bura looks on critically and impatiently.

Good God! Is that AL GORE on the far right of the bottom photo?

Man, that guy gets in ALL the photo ops!

FYI…

The prayer-like hand gesture seen in the bottom picture, and a slight bow usually accompany the saying of “Namaste” to honor another person.

Bill probably gets a "Namaskar" instead of "Namaste" as a respected elder.

Thanks for good info that I overlooked, Howard. I am too familiar with the society and culture and figure everybody knows all this stuff. Namaskar is right and the respect is almost embarrassing. Any time I entered the shop all the kamis would stand and give the salute and the Namaskar. Too much of a good thing!

The Al Gore you mentioned, Dave, is Prakash, an excellent kami with women troubles that I've mentioned before.
