Hi, just saying hello to people and share a couple pictures I took earlier. I
must admit that when it comes to slip joints I've grown up with people who
use them, though it was only recently I started carrying one asides from a
Vic soldier. Prior to this I've always liked my one hand openers Sog, CRKT,
Spyderco ect ect ect.

A few months ago I came to the conclusion that traditional knives had a
certain charm about them. I'd been eyeing my 80T and Buck 110 alot
more closely, so went and bought a Buck Creek 4 1/4 stockman (my
favourite traditional patten, my dad uses a stockman all the time). I've
amassed some pictures of my small collection for your viewing enjoyment.

The Buck Creek, my current edc along with a Kershaw NRG and the above
mentioned soldier

The USA 80T, I can't bring myself to use it, I know they are a great user. I
keep her oiled and clean, its still the factory edge... (sad I know). Hence the
Buck Creek.

The Bear and Son 5 1/4 Hunter. What can I say, the back spring is strong,
she definitely takes some effort to open. I was hesitant in buying a Bear and
Son knife owing to the dubious quality I've read about. What I can say
is this particular knife is quite well made.

Moving on to a Case amber bone trapper again nice knife, I just haven't had
much using time. Fit and finish are quite nice. Still deciding what I think of
trapper pattern.

Next up is the venerable Buck 110, I can't say much that no one would
know. I've owned her for a couple years now and I've never had any
complaints.

Lastly here are just two photo's of all of them for a little eye candy

Anyway sorry for the length of the post. But lastly I'll ask a question, I'm
looking at getting another couple knives I'm open to pattern suggestions
and makers; I'm aiming for better quality though I have a working budget
of around 200-250US (yes even though I'm in australia). This seems to be
a new obsession for me

Welcome to the forum and let me say you have a fine collection there. As for adding to it I know you have to take shipping and such into consideration unless you buy locally. If you like the stockman pattern you might look at older Fight'n Roosters and Bulldogs. Many here think highly of GEC and S&M as well.

Welcome! That is a good looking collection! I like the bone on the Bear & Son. All classics so all good choices. Look forward to more posts from you.

Welcome to the forum! great knives you have there. I say for a new knife you'd do well to look into queen, they have a nice large stockman, Northwoods does as well.

nice bunch of traditional knives ya got! I'm with you on the trapper pattern, i have an old yellow cv trapper and i just dont like trappers...
But ya got stockmans and its hard to beat those, 3 knives in one handle:D
cheers
gene
P.S. Excellent photos too:thumbup:

Thanks everyone :D, I feel so welcomed. Quick apologies for any spelling mistakes and such, its 12:20am... pretty tired. I'll be able to reply tomorrow though.

Absintheur, problem is that buying locally is mostly out of the question, we don't have much by way of knife shops here. There are a couple good web stores but some of the
brands aren't readily available (wouldn't be the first time I've imported a knife :) ).

Texasflyfisher, I agree fully.. she is a nice looking knife (especially with that handle), I'm very glad I took the chance getting her. Laughs* glad to hear because I'm looking
forward to making more posts....and more photo's :).

Jesse, yes i've been trying to track down Queen products, I've found a couple just no stockmans... yet. I must say I do like D2, I've got a couple one hand openers in D2.

Ivankerley, laughs* There will be more photo's in the future, glad you liked them. 3 knives are good and in one convenient little package. Makes me wonder what a
congress would be like..
