Hi, just saying hello to people and share a couple pictures I took earlier. I
must admit that when it comes to slip joints I've grown up with people who
use them, though it was only recently I started carrying one asides from a
Vic soldier. Prior to this I've always liked my one hand openers Sog, CRKT,
Spyderco ect ect ect.
A few months ago I came to the conclusion that traditional knives had a
certain charm about them. I'd been eyeing my 80T and Buck 110 alot
more closely, so went and bought a Buck Creek 4 1/4 stockman (my
favourite traditional patten, my dad uses a stockman all the time). I've
amassed some pictures of my small collection for your viewing enjoyment.
The Buck Creek, my current edc along with a Kershaw NRG and the above
mentioned soldier
The USA 80T, I can't bring myself to use it, I know they are a great user. I
keep her oiled and clean, its still the factory edge... (sad I know). Hence the
Buck Creek.
The Bear and Son 5 1/4 Hunter. What can I say, the back spring is strong,
she definitely takes some effort to open. I was hesitant in buying a Bear and
Son knife owing to the dubious quality I've read about. What I can say
is this particular knife is quite well made.
Moving on to a Case amber bone trapper again nice knife, I just haven't had
much using time. Fit and finish are quite nice. Still deciding what I think of
trapper pattern.
Next up is the venerable Buck 110, I can't say much that no one would
know. I've owned her for a couple years now and I've never had any
complaints.
Lastly here are just two photo's of all of them for a little eye candy
Anyway sorry for the length of the post. But lastly I'll ask a question, I'm
looking at getting another couple knives I'm open to pattern suggestions
and makers; I'm aiming for better quality though I have a working budget
of around 200-250US (yes even though I'm in australia). This seems to be
a new obsession for me
