Hello, all. My name is Mike and I'd like to introduce myself as a new member to the forum, as well as a recent and proud owner of a brand-spanking new BK22 (Yay, me)! I've seen several Youtube videos and read several articles within the forum about folks who have placed a divot in their knife handles so it can be used as a bowdrill handle. These vids/articles show the divots on a RAT-7, a Mora, but haven't seen one on a BK22. Since the handles are removable, could they hold up to such a modification without destroying the durability?

Thanks for your time, and I look forward to getting to know you on the forum.

Best,
Mike

The main difference between between the ESEE/RAT & Mora handles vs. the Becker scales is that the Beckers are hollow.
I think it would be entirely possible to create a mod such as that, you'd just have to figure out a way to fill-in the hollow part to provide structural support.
Maybe some kind of Bond-O putty or spray foam???
If you bought aftermarket micarta or G-10 scales you could skip that step.

You also could switch to wood scales

Mrknot,

Bond-O sounds like the best bet but, to be honest, the more I think about it, the more I think I may just skip the whole thing....that Becker is soooo nice-looking I really hate to ruin it with what will undoubtedly be shoddy workmanship, lol. Thanks for your response!

Best,
Mike
