Hello, all. Just joined the forums, and thought I'd ask a few questions to the guru's of Ka-Bar.

1st; is it true that the tangs are thicker on Kraton handled fighting/utility knives than on those with stacked leather? I've seen it mentioned in my searches but never in any depth. If so, does anyone know why?

2nd; have the "Black Fighter" and Combat Kukri ever been made with Stacked Leather handles? Loves me some stacks....

Thanks, and great forum ya got here!

Hey and welcome smoke.

First question, same size, only the handles change, the blades are all cut the same.

Second question, no. Only the American Legend and MKI have the stacked leather. The Hunter series does as well, but based on the criteria, it seemed combat oriented.

Once again welcome.

Stacked leather Kukri would be awesome but I would bet the leather would separate on a well used model.

I didn't figure she was, but as far as expressions of awe and awesomeness, I figured it would work.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Very cool. I was mostly wondering why we haven't seen stacked leather versions of those knives that have the Kraton look-alike handles; the ones that have the same profile and ribs as stacked leather but are made of Kraton. 'Cuz I'd be all over a stacked Combat Kukri and Black fighter like (insert dirty word) on (insert dirty word)! The tang thing was only because tons of people say that thickness on the Black Fighter and the Tanto(? I think?) are thicker than the rest. Just wondering, and now I know. Thanks!
