I'm so pleased to have found this site. There are so few websites that focuses on Canadian enthusiasts.

As this is my first post, let me introduce myself. I've been collecting knives on and off for decades. My tastes over the years have been all over the place. Fixed blades, folders, and decorative knives make up the collection.

Unfortunately, with the years advancing, and none of the kids or grandkids showing any interest in the collection, it looks like I'll be liquidating.

So, over the next while, I plan to post my knives to the 'For Sale' forum.

Perhaps I should have been collecting Pokeman?

Cheers,

JJ

Greetings from the darkness of Penn's Woods!

If your intent is to sell, you should upgrade your membership. I think us "free to play" members can buy, but it's only Gold(?) and above that can sell.

That's good to know...seems to be a common thread these days amongst websites that offer a classified section. Even CL charges a fee to list a car in some areas.

Unfortunately ad revenue is not enough to sustain most sites and if it is the ads are usually intrusive and annoying. I don't see it in the options to purchase but there is a basic membership as well and I don't know what all you get with that. I do know that Gold does allow you to sell. I also find that this site is well worth it and if you compare the cost of membership to most fees on sites like eBay you definitely come out ahead.

BASIC

Bare bones membership that allows avatars, signatures, limited attachments and private messaging. No selling allowed.

Exchange Areas: Trade Forums, Post new threads in WTB (no replies)
Private messaging: 5 conversations, 15 total messages
Avatar: Yes (10k)
Signature
Media Gallery
: Yes (5Mb)
Create Resources: Yes

So yeah, gold is the way to go.
Welcome to the forum anyway, stick around :)

A Basic Membership allows one to start trade threads. You are correct that Gold is the minimum required to sell.

When you have a current paid membership, the only options you'll see in the Paid Subscriptions are the one you have and upgrades. I suppose that is to encourage to reup with an equal membership or to upgrade. Basic and non paid will see all available. If you want to down grade you'll have to wait until your current expires.

Welcome to the forums : )
which part of Canada are you in, out of curiosity?

Going through the boxes and dug out this beauty.....I think I purchased it back in the early '90's.

Does Peter Marzitelli still fabricate folders?

Nope, links don't work. There is a sticky at the top of the general forum that explains how to post pictures I believe.
