Hello Beckerheads and Mr. Becker,
I am a huge Becker (and few other knives & guns) fan from Czech Republic (half of old Czechoslovakia in Europe).
I own my favourite BK9 for almost one year, superb knive for such a price. I always liked big knives
.
Also I have Ka-Bar TDI Large (my favorite for self defence - I am training KM and Kali), Ka-Bar Next Generation 1222, 3 CRKT Crawford Kasper Folder,
Victorinox Swiss Tool X and few other knives and tools. Recently my friend was in N. Y. for 3 weeks vacation.
So I bought some new Beckers on Amazon and shipped it to N. Y. for free and my friend brought them to me in his baggage (of course in the big suitcase in the storage compartment of the plane).
First I wanted to buy a new Ka-Bar TDI Hellfire (really beautiful functional design) for me and BK7 for my girlfriend (she is a scoutmaster, she has small Ka-Bar TDI,
CRKT Hammond Cruiser and some other knives and Walther PPK too
).
But when I saw the prices on Amazon I had to buy also BK2 for me and BK17 for her. In my country, Becker knives (and everything else from US) cost usually twice as much than in US :-(.
Also buying and shipping it in to Czech Republic is not a good idea, because you must pay taxes and duties on almost everything :-(.
So with a friend in N. Y., it was without intercontinental shippment and without taxes. I bought 4 knives for the price of two in CZ, very lucky day
.
So a few pics of my new sharp friends:
Mine:
Hers:
Group pics:
BK7 was extremelly sharp from the factory, cuts paper and shave hair without problem.
BK2 has some tip of the blade deformation, it's been grounded too mutch from the right side. I don't have Norton waterstone set yet,
so I can't fix it for now and also I don't have experience with this type of blade repairing.
So now I am waiting for the new big Reinheardt to be available
. Also I wish, that the new Reinheardt would be eventually made with BK2 thickness
(for heavy knives fans) and rounded edge rim at the handle. Prototype looks amazing with this one small bug with that square top corner edge section
at the handle and thin spine above this area, old version was rounded in that spot. And such a large knive must be in BK2 thickness for my taste
.
And also I am saving for BlackHeart Juggernaut (BK9 on another price level) + H&K VP9, but that's for another forum
.
Have a nice day Beckerheads.
