How hard is it to find a 1840rd red handled Shallot? (Non snap-on logo). Is this a hopeless quest or just a hard quest?
Thanks for your guidance, pointers, and opinions!
 
Not sure if you saw it but I replied to your WTB post. Still pretty sure the Shallots weren't produced without the SO logo, but let us know if you find one. I've never seen one.
 
Hi, no I hadn't seen that reply, but just read and replied back. May be back to you on the so. I will post what KAI tells me here as to whether there were any non-so red shallots. Thanks for your time.

OK, here's the summary from KAI - a shout out to Brittany at Kai for the usual great service!

Red Chive is still in production, but only 1600rdso, a snap-on exclusive
1840rdso, red shallot is only available with snap-on logo, another exclusive
1830rd is no longer available, but was made with plain red handle

I have the red/black blur, red needs work, red scallion, and red leek. (And a reddish centofante)
Would really like a red oso sweet, but not seeing any.

I may take jimw's advice and think about "customizing" a rdso shallot. Honk if anyone has undertaken that and lived to show the results.

Depending on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go/ fall, there are a few variations on the red blur.
Don't forget about the red skylines too.
Let me think out loud, theres the red little lockbacks, red one ton or half ton, the red smoke onions (leek, scallion, chive) red DWO's, red 1440 snap-on chubby and black with red rubber insert too, red ram, red snap-on ram, red snap-on groove, baby boa (red smoke), red two can, red funxion, red karabiner, red mini biner, red breakout, there might be more but thats all I can come up with for now.

Just heard from KAI: the red volt ii was a special order last fall for a company in Louisiana, 5,000 of them somewhere. One of those in my pocket! FYI, it feels great. Thicker blade and lock than an oso sweet. I also found someone willing to sell me a red oso. So two joys in two weeks! Best,
