I picked these up from Greg at Blade show on Saturday, talked with him for about 15 minutes, he is a really cool guy.

Pictured are the Sidearm with a Mako shark's tooth menuki and one of his hunters. Handle wrap on the sidearm was done by his friend Kirby Lambert who I also had the pleasure of speaking with.

The leather sheath and rig for the sidearm is a great piece of work and very functional. The only thing better than his sheaths are his grinding skills, both of these knives have flawless grinds. Steel on both pieces is 154CM. I asked "the equivalent of ats-34?" he said "no ATS-34 has many impurities."

He has been making knives for 18 years I will take his word for it..lol.

Any comments are appreciated. Thanks. My pictures are awful but you get the idea.

I admire his work too. A distinctive "aggressive" look about them. . . plus the "shark" trademark works too. I'd like to own a Catch Dog folder someday, my only personal preference is that it was a frame lock or lock back.

I've met Greg and he is an interesting fella. He can be a bit on the gruff side, but I like him, and I think he makes some great knives.

I'm always interested to look at anything Greg makes. What's the handle material on the hunter, a light colored burl maybe? I like it a lot. Nice pickups.

Don't remember the name of the wood, but it did come from his 160 acre piece of land he owns.

They are both nice but I particularly like the hunter. I would guess maple burl as well on that one.

Beautiful knives from Greg. That light colored burl wood looks like Box Elder Burl to me. Either that, or Maple Burl.

That must be a record!

Have you ever sent him an email? His replies are usually 3 words or less. If it's 4 words, it means he feels like "chatting". :D

(and, yes, Greg is definitely a great guy!)

Kirby and Greg are both great makers and people.

Neil at TNK handles these makers knives. He talks very highly of them. I don't know Greg well but have Talked to Kirby and seen his fantastic work! A friend got a Catch Dog from Neil that was awesome!

I got about 40 words from him in an email.

Hey, those fixed blades look chisel ground. Are they?
I don't mind chisel grinds.

I've only got one Lightfoot so far, my Max Velocity which I LOVE, but I gotta get one or two more of his folders.
