Just in case some of you are missing this over in Practical Tactical forum, the great Mr. Greg Walker is posting a review of the Strider Tanto blade he is currently using/abusing in the real world i.e. Kuwait. On deployment in Kuwait he is using Striders.

Mr. Walker is one of the greats in knife work and in use of the combat blade. He is an authority on the "blade"

Check it out.

Great reading and worlds of insight and knowledge are there.

Mick is posting some photos of the knife.

The review will be up in next 48 hrs or so.

"Knives (fixed) blade over 7" in blade length just aren't seen here in the field (for all intents and purposes). Too big for everyday carry and common use. With full body armor, vehicle space constraints, combat vest (fully loaded), and so on a BIG knife is simply uncomfortable and unnecessary. Again, wherever you can cut weight (even by ounces), you do."

So very true. With everything else on your LBV and pistol belt, there's almost no space for a big fixed blade. Trying to draw without being a contortion artist is tough. I find that the EB-series works well, especially when attached to the front of a drop rig on the top leg strap.

BTT I will second that. This stuff is some of the most interesting and valid posting on Blade Forums.

Greg Walker has some reallt great ideas, knife combat experience, and is using Strider in Kuwait can't get more "real world" than that.

I consider him to be one of the top authorities on knife combat use.

Listen to what he says read his books and you will be a better knife user.

I loved the folder warning he gave about pocket clip breaking off and his suggestion to use a sheath or pouch for your folder. He did say the pocket clip on Striders holds up fine!

I am still looking for the Strider Tanto evaluation results. Soon.

If I understand correctly, there are 2 or 3 Striders mentioned by Greg Walker. There is the "TAC FOLDER", which I'd imagine is an AR. There are 2 fixed blades, a "small fixed blade and beautiful Strider Tanto".

Am I correct that there are 3 Striders mentioned? What Striders is he using/reviewing?

L.O.
not sure which Striders he is using. I am waiting to hear from Mr. Walker in the thread or Mick maybe?

I think your right that he is using a Folder might be GB though.

He is also using at least 2 fixed blade models, not sure which ones.

The threads are great reading though.
