A mouse is Grey so how about a grey layered micarta handled Mouse? Almite just doesn't do it for me but micarta would wear with honour in a gentlemans pocket. Who's with me?

Carlos, why stop there? What about an integral compression lock (not that I don't love the lock back):D :D :D :D

since this is one of my favorite knives i guess i'll throw in my idea of beauty. i might be talking custom jobs here, but i think the mouse would look great with a blue or blue-purple titanium handle. for those of you looking to keep with the rodent theme, oak (or another medium brown colored wood) would probably compliment this blade.

from experience i've found that tying a lanyard onto the back of this knife makes it easier for big hands to grip... but also can be a way to give it a "tail".

if we're getting silly about themes, why not do the toad in green titanium? (drool, that would be a pair)

Shard,
I did that with my mouse and a chris reeve style lanyard. Works wonders.

Folks,

I don't own a Mouse (yet) and wonder...

How many fingers comfortably rest upon the handle when gripping this little knife?

Thanks, Jeff/1911.

Okay, I think this will satisify most of you. A Kansei Mitsuno custom ti upswept folder monolock. No spyderhole, but it has a sleeved (rotating) thumbstud which tracks with your thumb movement (so it doesn't slip). It will be replacing my Umfaan for office edc. (Forgot to mention that the steel is VG-10 and the grind is high hollow ground that bleeds past the top of the blade).

Hi Jeff/1911,

I have Med/Lrg hands and all fingers fit except for pinky and maybe half of the ring finger but that depends on how deep of a grip you take. Although it's not as secure a hold that I'd prefer if I were in let's say a knife fight, but it's perfect for dressing a deer/moose/etc. which is what this little Mouse was intended for.

The cross-textured "hump" along the spine provides a very positive feel when you're doing intricate cutting. It also helps with creating a more secure feel when holding it with only 4 fingers.

Hope all is well.

Nice pic, Architect(Scolby).

Bummer on the Spydie hole though...:D

That Kansei would make an awesome collaboration. Just add a little hump and a Spyderhole. That I would buy for sure. Who else thinks so?

It's very nice -- if they could do something like that, I'd buy one.

Architect always seems to have great taste in small knives! I've drooled over this one before...

Larry,

Thank you for the comprehensive response to my query about the "Mouse in hand". I intend to order one soon, and just had to ask this one more thing...

I look forward to using mine to field dress a big game animal this coming fall if I get the chance, as I did last November with my then-new large, plain edge Wegner. What a beautiful tool for that job! It was a small Whitetail deer and it practically dressed itself out. I mean it, I've simply never seen a knife work better for this task.

Cheers, Jeff/1911.

Folks,

Well, I ordered mine today. That sale price that Blade-Tech has going helped me make up my mind, finally. Can't wait to hear that little "squeak, squeak", that I'm sure they must make.

Jeff/1911.

i like to refer to the mouse as "squeak!" again i would recomend a lanyard for this knife for men. heck you can practice you boy scout knot tying and do it up fancy. my puny woman hands are almost the right size for this knife, but the lanyard helps. it's a great little knife, enjoy it.

I would enjoy seeing more options for the Mouse, both the grey layered micarta & Titanium scales sound great, to me!

Folks,

Can someone tell me what a "Chris Reeve" style lanyard looks like? Are there any pictures of these around?

Thanks, Jeff/1911.

Wow, a step-by-step description, that's great! I really appreciate your posting this. I'm going to try this out on my Mouse, once I get it. I looked at the Chris Reeve site earlier too, and didn't notice a link to this.

Cheers, Jeff/1911.
