Some Titanium knife parts I've seen had a nice matt grey finish, how is this achieved? I assume the part is first bead blasted and then anodized. If so does anyone know what voltage is required to get a mid/dark grey? Any help would be much appreciated.

Vic, I don't believe the Ti is anodized. You can acheive different colors of grey from sand/bead blasting depending on the media you use. If you anodize it you can get just about any color in the rainbow with Blue and Purple being the easiest to do.

You can achive grey by bead blasting. Or if you have a good variable transformer you can anodize it to a grey color. I have but it was with a voltage cranked up to 150 volts. This color also seems the toughest color.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll try bead blasting first and see how I get on.
