I have been reading this forum for a while now. I have learned a great deal reading your posts. Thank you for the info that you share. I am strongly considering placing an order for a Grey Wolf M5 with a scandi grind. My question is what blade thickness would be best. I look forward to any input you might have.

I never owned any of their knives. However based on the photos from their website and options:

1/8"+ $0 = 0.1250
5/32"+ $5 = 0.1563
3/16"+ $10 = 0.1875

For that knife my preference would be 1/8.

Grey Wolf does great work, here's one he made for me a few years ago. Picture is one he sent me when it was done and ready to ship.

Well made, and he can really put an edge on one!

This is an M5 in 1095 with a Patina and Black Walnut handles

I can vouch for Aaron and the quality of his knives
I also have in Black Walnut
1/8" blade is just fine, you want no thicker

Aaron will make the handles flatter (thinner) or rounder (thicker), depending on how you like it to be hand filling
He also make the sheath to be a dangler

The knife is very well balanced at the firsdt finger notch so it is very nimble in the hand
His scandi grind is a zero grind, and is super sharp
I have never sharpened his knives and only strop them

I also have a knife in micarta and a kydex sheath, very different in looks and an excellent user

You will get very high quality custom knife, rustic with the patina, black walnut, and leather sheath, at an unbeatable price
