New one from Neil blackwood should be arriving today - hopefully waiting for me when I get home. Pictures are courtesy of Neil - will take some more later & give a usage review. Handles are some nicely figured Juniper Burl I sent to Neil. On to pictures:

Neil makes some really nice knives - can't wait to get home & get to handle this one - if my other ones of his are any indication the pictures don't do this one justice!

Thanks Neil!!!!
:) :D ;) :D

Great looking. I just picked up a small tac from a forumite and really like it. But seeing all the wood handle Blackwoods makes me want to order a medium Hunter or Grifter to get a close look at that amazing wood.

Enjoy...JT

SCHWEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

*in awe*

I love it! (Add another to the wish list.) You lucky devil!

That is simply stunning - elegant, and somehow.... controlled.

Congrats to the maker and the owner :)

That is just a fantastic looking knife. Good for you!! Neil's work just seems to be getting better and better.....

Knife IS fantastic! Better than pictures - now I know why Neil didn't want to send it to me! Handle design is great, wood is drop-dead gorgeous, and blade is ground to perfection. Already blooded myself with it(only took ten minutes!) when cleaning oil off blade - forgot back edge is sharpened! Main edge defines word sharp and back edge is dangerous - did not even feel it when slicing my finger it is that sharp! Sheath set up for horizontal cross-draw & works great - holds knife securely but not hardto draw. All-in-all a wonderful package - Neil's work is getting better & better and it was very good before. Will try to get more up after chance to use it more.

Have a great day!

Bill,

Be careful with that bad boy :) Maybe we should have gone with Bloodwood?? :p

Actually, the final fitting of the sheath caused me to bloody myself too. Crazy glue IS a beautiful thing!!!

I'm glad the knife arrived safe and sound. Does it STILL smell good?? I need to work with juniper burl at least once a month to keep my shop smelling FRESH !!

Once again, it was a real pleasure. Thanks for posting the pics, I appreciate it.

See you when you get to Florida!

Neil

EDIT: What a TWIT I am....... THANKS everyone for the compliments. This knife was fun to make and Bill selected some NICE wood. The pressure was on not to SCREW it up ;)

Penguin -- can I get the measurements on this baby? I don't think you posted them.

What about uses? Are you using this one or displaying it. If you are using it, what kind of jobs do you expect to tackle with the Grifter?

Thanks...JT

I have never ever thought of Neil's knives as ones for display. Yes, many of his knives are worthy of display; but, for some reason, I never have considered a Blackwood knife to be a "DISPLAY KNIFE". Neil makes BEAUTIFUL knives for using. (I hope I have not insulted him!!!:) :) ;))

Dennis...Is that the one we talked about on the Tactical forum. Wow.. that handle is great and the recurve on the blade is smooth looking. It's good to see a pic. Enjoy.
