Grimsmo Norseman blade play/sloppiness

Hey all, my apologies off the bat if this is in the incorrect section - this is my first post here.

I just picked up a used Norseman that, while not abused, was actually used by the previous owner. On arrival there was some fairly significant side to side blade play and a few of the stand-off screws were loose. I took everything apart, cleaned and lubed, then reassembled with blue loctite as I’ve done on all my other knives. Got the pivot adjusted perfectly for blade play and centering, while still allowing for a nice drop shut action.

fast forward to today (knife’s second day in my pocket) and after a little bit of flipping I’m starting to get side to side blade play again. To the point where it kinda rattles of you shake it when closed. Now, I didn’t ugga dugga the screws, but they were certainly tight - just as much as any other knife I’ve reassembled. I’m not flipping super aggressively, either. Just enough to pop the blade out like normal.

I’m kinda at a loss for why it’s loosening up, especially when using loctite. Anyone have a similar experience or tips? Thanks!

Just check the screws again. If it has loosened clean the threads and apply a bit more locktite.

If the problem persists contact the Grimsmo brothers.

I had a problem much like this with my Norseman. John sent me a new pivot and it loosened too. I then stumbled on some podcast where John said that loctite takes several days to really cure on their knives (perhaps because the pivot is titanium?). So I loctited it and let it sit for 3 days undisturbed, no problems since then.

As others have said clean out the threads (on screws / post / pivot ) to ensure no lube / old loctite.

Once you're sure everything is clean and dry , re loctite and let it sit for 24 hours . Hope this makes a difference.
