Grind Height

I am having trouble keeping the height of my grind from going all the way to the spine, before I get to the center of my edge.
Is there a way I can control this?

Thanks,
Gene

The way I avoid this problem is by grinding at a really steep angle until I am close to my centerline then I start to walk the grind up the blade.I do a lot of high hollow grinds, and this is what works best for me.Hope it helps.

Seriously we have all been there. Just develop a habit of looking after every pass. Keep your grinding even on each side, by that I mean one maybe two passes on one side FLIP do the same on the other FLIP... You get the idea. After awhile it becomes automatic. After awhile you will find this to be less of a problem.

Blue layout, scribe a line and don't go past it. I do the edge first and then work up. Basically how Sean does it.

As you can tell, different folks have different ways. You will find your own way. It takes time. You will have a pile of mangled steel before you get it right. Once you get that down, work on keeping your grindlines straight and even on both sides. This will be more piles of steel.
