Grind Line Heights

Some time ago I found a site which discussed the optimum height for hollow grinding, relative to the size of wheel (8" or 10", etc) being used.

Virus destroyed my computer (again!) and I lost all my "favourites".

Anyone have a site in mind for reference?

I think that used to be on Beaumont Metalworks (Rob Frink/KMG) but when I looked at Rob's site the other day I couldn't find a lot of stuff that used to be there.

Personally, I don't think these types of calculator are truly accurate. Too many variables, like material thickness etc.

I just know that a 10" wheel on 3/16" stock will go up 1 1/16" from the edge without having to rock it. Seems to work on 1/8" too. Go figure.
