grinder estamates

I've been following Wayne Goddards "all about grinders" in Blade magazines all year drooling about his designs and simplicity. But I'm curios to know what kind of money it's gonna take. Has anyone out there built one, are you happy with it and what was the total cost? I also would like to know if there is a design for a oven that you could heat treat D2 at home with? Thanks for any help.
