Grinder problem

This is probably an easy one, but I'm a little slow. I think that my old reliable 1HP Craftsman grinder has just about had it. The belt slows down, to a stop really, even with light grinding now. The thing is over 9 years old, so I can't say I didn't get my money's worth. Is this a fixable problem? Anyone know how Craftsman's warranty works? Does it apply to power tools like this? Thanks,

Whit

Sears only warrants their Craftsman line of hand tools for life, not power tools. Power tools have a 1 year warranty. Sorry, but your best bet is to throw the thing away and get another grinder.

My son works at a Sears Service Center and you cannot believe some of the stories he comes home with....like the guy that pulls up right at closing time and comes in, sweaty, and asks, "Can some of you guys give me a hand unloading this washer from the back of my truck?"

They explain to him that washers aren't serviced there, he has to place a service call.

"Technicians only work on those at the customer's house."

"What?!? Do you know how hard it was to load that thing?!?"

"Sorry, sir. But there is not anyone here that works on washers"

"BUT ITS FULL OF WATER!!!"

Ryan; Pull it apart and see if the brushes are worn down. Do you still have the booklet the came with it??? I believe they have a parts store on line.

IG,
The brushes? This is where it all goes wrong. As you know, I'm not the most mechanical inclined guy! I guess I could pull it apart as a learning experience at least.

Sorry!!! I forgot that you have hands like feet. HEHEHE!! :p :D
I am glad that I am not around when you fire off one of those artillery pieces.

Well THAT I'm actually good at George! It's pretty odd that I can control mortars, artillery, attack aviation and close air support aircraft simultaneously in combat, but I have trouble with changing lightbulbs or hanging up pictures. Oh well. By the time I'm as old as you, I'll be making pretty decent knives!

So I'll look for the manual, doubt I have it, but it may be online somewhere. I'll pull it apart and see how much damage I can do to myself, and the grinder!

what model is the grinder, i have 2 craftsmans and may have the same one and i do have the manuals, i could fax you copies of the needed pages
