Hi Everyone:

After all the past discussion on slower speeds for grinding being better, I changed the drive wheel on my Bader from 6" to 3" and notice I have better control and get a much better grind. If I go to a 1" drive wheel will it be too slow for good work or has anyone tried this already. Let me know. I am anxious to find out if there is such a thing as toooo slow. Thanks.

Marcel

Only one bit of caution on slower speeds...
If you slow your belt speed down too slow and try to use an "improper" belt, you will get the dreaded "splice groove" in the steel. This happens when belts with a big "bump" at the splice is used. Quality belts are a must at slower speeds. That is the reason I have been won over to the 3M Trizact belts.

marcel, when i get up in the morning and have had only one cup of coffee, i run my grinder as slow as it will go, until i start feeling a pulse and get the second and third cup in my blood stream....then i crank it up, of course my bader only goes fast!!!! but i dont think you can run it too slow.
