Grinder Vacuum System. Thoughts? Input?

I have seen in some video's people useing heater ducting mounted just below the grinder to catch the sparks, and dust. I am wanting to do something very similar. Question is... will a dust collector vacuum with the ducting ran thru the wall to a bucket of water keep the dust and fire hazard out of the shop?

You can make it fancy and complicated, but all you really need is a way to suck in the sparks and cool them. I have a little different set up than this video but very simple and inexpensive.
