This is not the kind of thing any knifemaker wants to have to deal with a few weeks before the Blade Show....
My grinder crapped out on me!!!

Thank goodness the maker (Bob Dozier) lives just 20 miles down the road and I was able to take it down there and have it "fixed".
Bob and Daniel worked their magic and set me up with a new controller and now everything works GREAT!!!
I've been kinda going nuts for about 3-4 months now....because the motor was "bogging down" with ever-easier pressure day after day....
After having flat ground about a dozen thick Nessmuk blades on Tuesday....I finally gave up and called Bob.
Just to give you guys some perspective....
Imagine if your commuter car was a fine BMW and then every day you drove it, it slowly morphed into a MO-PED...

That's what it has been like.....and I finally decided to do something about it.
And I couldn't be happier with the results.
(For those technically inclined....I think that excessive vibration is what caused the controller to go out...so I have now moved it off the grinder.)
I'm also quite happy about a little "present" Daniel gave me:
...a 1" wide platen....to make profiling easier on those hard-to-profile knives - the ones with lots of curves in the handle.
Thanks, Daniel !!!
Well, I am back in the shop again....and (fingers crossed) back up to full speed. This is going to be a great couple weeks. I'm expecting to finish and ship somewhere around 150 knives by the Blade Show...(including stuff for the show) and then even more afterwards.
Thanks for your patience while I'm am suffering "Transition Pains" getting into my new shop!!!
