I'm getting my new grinder tomorrow. I would like to get a led work light for it that is flexible and maybe with a magnetic mount? Looking for ideas amd sources.

I've seen a few folks use a flexible magnetic LED sewing light from amazon. I use a halogen dock light that will probably get an LED upgrade to reduce the heat on the top of my head.

Grab a couple magnetic led task lights for close up work. Also, those inexpensive 8/10" aluminum spring clamp work lights that have been around forever work well with an led installed. Overhead they run cool.

I bought a couple. The one by my grinder reaches my surface grinder and another one for hand sanding. Next time I go I'll get a couple more.

I have maybe 20 of the flexible LED lights from IKEA. The shorter ones with the plastic spring clamps are not very good. The longer version with the weighted base is better. I take those and convert to metal spring clamps and use them everywhere.

FWIW, I found some LED task lamps on clearance at my local hardware and converted them to portable/magnetic shop lights, simply by removing the weighted bases and putting the wiring and guts back into a single gang switch box with a magnet attached to it. The "goose neck" is a fixed piece of tube with a pivot an each end, so it's not as convenient as a flex neck, which I would probably look for if I did the project again. At any rate, I think I have about $20 into each light, all in, and I can stick it almost anywhere in the shop for a little extra task lighting.

I appreciate the responses guys, I made a Amazon order and found a led light with a magnetic base that should work. Got it for $12, China quality so we will see if it holds up, but if not I will try some more of these ideas. I'll post some pics when I get it.
