Well since it's been MORE THAN 36HRS since Jerry's posted a new variant, he's obviously not doing any grinding LOL;) so we might at least talk about grinding. I saw this thread over on the custom forum http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=200872 which asked this question. The discussion in this thread I thought was interesting (although not as interesting as how a guy can have a dream job like running the custom shop for a company based out of Ohio but live in sunny Florida   )

I was curious how you do it, Marc or Jerry? (the grinding, before or after, not the great Florida mystery)

Oh yeah, and there was one other strange thing on this thread: there is no mention of Carling Black Label, I understood that was an important part of knife making  It just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser :)

We prefer to do all of our custom grinding BEFORE heat treat. That way, there's NO chance of roasting the temper.

No Carling? Now, I'm really confused! ;)
