Grinding a Guthook

Hi everyone, I need some help on grinding a guthook, I tried a chainsaw file but it only sharpened a small area in the center of the radius. Any help would be appreciated. J.D.

I use my table saw with a 10" chop saw blade. I simply raise the table so only a small amout of the blade is showing (about 1") and lay the knife blade flat on the table. Go slow and move the knife from side to side slightly. It takes some time but does a nice straight cutting surface. I think the straight ones work better than the round ones. You may want to take out the excess steel with the band saw first.
