Hello guys ,

I am interested the stock removal method for some novice knife makeing. I have a sears table top belt sander I use for wood working. Would I be able to use this to get started. Is there a special type belt to use for stock removal? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks again,
Jay

http://www.geocities.com/kat36_98/sandpaper.html Here is a site that has great prices on grinding belts, good quality. She also sells on ebay. I buy most of my belts, under 400 grit, from her. If you are talking about the Sears 2X42, it is capable of producing blades. Would make a better grinder if the rpm is reduced.

Can you use it Yes, thats what I used
for a spell. Is it the best thing to use
No. I got all of my belts for it at Supergrit

I get my A/O belts from Kim at Discount Abrasives. She also carries, silcon carbide and ceramic belts. I think she is a little cheaper than Barbkat on the A/O belts. If i remember right, they were $1.15 per belt for my 2 x 60 Burr King.
