I have been testing 60 grit on some of my junk knives ( failed to impress ) ... To see if life can be returned to them .

So here is a video of me grinding ...

Since the Kershaw was previously Tested with a 220 grit grind ... I am matching the angle and regrinding 60 grit as the Kershaw was a disappointing knife ( edge holding ) .
This will be a control knife ( as far as is possible ) .

I’ve done a LOT of hillbilly steel fab with a 60 grit wheel. Out here in the dingweeds, scrap steel, a hammer and anvil, and a side grinder saves me countless trips to town. Often my repair parts are stronger/last longer than the original.

That said, if you sharpen knives on a 60 grit at 3450 rpm, you better be in the 98th percentile of having a very light touch and cooling often.

Good for you, most people can’t do it without getting the blues.
