I purchased the razor edge sharpening kit and I have been grinding the relief on my blades by hand which takes too much time. Any tips on what kind of grinder I could purchase. Keep in mind I am a total beginner at this.

I have the Pro kit and I wondered if there was a less time consuming method too! I got an electric knife sharpener from sears last month in order to figure out if it yould be faster at grinding relief. NO, it is not one of those electric gizmos that eat steel for lunch! It is simply a 320 grit wheel turning in a basin of water- nice and safe. I haven't got a difinitive answer yet though. It does hollow grind the edge, and when I take it from that machine and free hand an edge on it with the Razor's Edge stones, I can get a nice and sharp edge. I am still playing around with the angles and such, trying to figure out how to get that wheel to grind a wider relief than I have so far been able to do.

I hope this helps! E-mail me later for updates!
