grinding talon hole

Has anyone tried grinding out the talon hole on a small choil knife to make a large choil with small residual guard? How did it work? Post some pics if you have done it successfully; the photo below is just a photoshop.

Samek, that old school green linen hacktive duty with a round butt... I'll take it! :thumbup:

I've been tempted to mod an active duty, SAR4, SOB and a meaner that way, but so far I have only modded a Rodent 3 to get a useable choil and larger grip that feels much better.

I haven't done exactly the mod you suggest - leaving the guard - but I probably would if I had a Busse with an elf choil. This is what I did to my B4, and I much prefer if this way.

I have a one-of that was a Vegas Treasure Hunt grand prize knife that came with a "bottle opener" talon from the shop. It has a longer hook than the photoshopped picture. There were five of these grand prize knives but each one was unique.
