Grinding You Knives

iF ANYONE HERE was in boyscouts the say that you should never use a file on a knife and really there is nothing wrong with that you grind on a knife and not hurt it you only damage the knife if you turn the steel a yellow color or if you are inexpierienced at grinding but I think almost every man is going to have used a grinder at some point

Well, you can certainly destroy the edge and the profile of a knife with a file, regardless of whether you destroy the temper or not.
