Grip Hunter - My sixth knife

This is to be used when hunting bigger game and can advantagebly be used for skinning.

This is the specification:
Blade:
Material: Carbon steel SS2258, Hardened in oil and blued to 60 HRC. 3 5/8" in length, 1" in height, total length 8"
Thickness- at the base approx. ¼ in that thins out towards the tip.
Surface: Raw forged surface that is polished. The edge is sharpened to razor sharpness.
The tongue is needle type and goes through the handle.

Handle:
Staring from the blade.
Brass 6/8" thick polished and worked into a finger guard integrated with the shaft wood. Black vulc fiber spacer

Wood: African red hard wood. A extremely dense and hard red wood. The colour is dark red with elements of lighter colour. The wood has dried in log form for 23 years.
Black vulcfibre spacer and brass 2 mm thick ín the end of the knife.

The blade has got file works at the base to get a perfect grip during skinning.

Very nice Per.I really like the style on this one the most.The blade steel I am not familiar with,what might it compare too?
 
Thank you for your kind words and assistance with the steel specification. I forgot to mention that the blade is made by a Swedish blade smith called Göran Enoksson.
