I have looked at pics but can't tell for sure - does the full size Ritter grip or sheepsfoot have jumping that extends further out towards the tip? I want to do a scale model that brings the index finger closer to the blade but with the drop point blade it doesn't work out bc the jumping is too short. Thanks!

I believe(not 100% sure mind you), that the Ritter has an extra 2 rows of jimping. I don't remember where, maybe Doug Ritter's own website, but I remember reading that before.

Someone else may have a better answer, though.

Are you thinking of our HUNT line? Those have jimping farther toward the tip.

Hi - no I mean the thumb ramps that are raised vertically above the spine on the grip models. The ramp on the drop point seems shorter than on the Ritter or the sheepsfoot.

I have a sheepsfoot Grip from the custom shop and two Ritter Grips. I don't have a 551 to compare them to. The custom shop's sheepsfoot (thumbhole; saber grind; M390) has 7 divots on the blade's thumbrest, and the Ritter Grip has 8 divots. However, the 8th divot on the Ritter Grip goes further in, towards the stop pin, instead of further out towards the blade tip. This means they (custom shop sheepsfoot and Ritter Grip) both are jimped to the same distance away from the stop pin.
