Stippled the handle on my 24 tonight. Not much to look at but sure is grippy!

Anyone else stipple their handles?

Thanks guys. I used a wood burning tool with a chisel tip.

I have a soldering gun with a tip that would give make a similar mark, but I think it'll be a little cumbersome to use. It's the pistol-grip soldering gun-type, not the lightweight pen/wand sort of thing. Would be nice to try it on some spare grivory, but I've just got one set and it's on the 2. Hmph.

Never seen the gun handle type iron. I have a regular solder iron and the wood burning one. Both are of the pen/wand variety. I've stippled 7 or 8 glock and m&p grips and now these handles.

Used to use a razor blade on guitar picks- raised little ridges that totally prevented them from spinning... I might have to try that on my BK2. Thanks for the pictures (& the idea)- it looks great!

Looks great.
I had stippled the grivory on the 16 when I first got it, but have since replaced 'em with mycarta.

Now you guys have me thinking of taking the soldering iron to the XD!

I stipple a lot of my Becker scales. Honestly, even with all the aftermarket scales I've purchased, the basic stippled grivory remains my favorite scales for my big chopping Beckers. They just provide the best, surest hold.

Hey, how'd that Blackhawk Tatang get it there?

Thanks everyone! I see I'm not the only one. ;) The only handgun I have left that I stippled is my G21. It was the first one I did. I did a bunch after that but they were all sold/traded off. Thanks for the replies guys.

I really like these. Looks very subtle, almost factory. I bet those feel great!

I think it looks nice, but somehow I haven't felt the need to do this on my smaller beckers, or even on the tweeners. I'm perfectly happy with the factory scales. I keep it in the back of my mind though, I might need to do this some day...
