Grip Tape or Wrap Question

I'm new here, was referred by the CRKT customer support staff.

I own an Ed Halligan Stiff K.I.S.S. which is one of my EDC blades. I love most everything about the knife. However, I find the scales to be a bit slippery to hold. I've done some Googling for some sort of tape or other material that would give a more secure grip. I'm trying to be practical yet I do not want it to be gnarly ugly either.

I have queried the various sub-forums here, so far nothing has turned up.

Could anyone point me to any existing threads or offer any advice on improving grip?

thanks!

Guntape GT-5000, though apparently the knife is designed for paracord wrapping if that's more to your taste.

Can always do the Canadian thing and wrap it in hockey tape. It may get a bit sticky, but that's just extra grip. If you need extra handle width, try wrapping it in paracord first and then add a layer of hockey tape to hold it in place. In a pinch can also use electrical tape. Gun tape should yield the best results, but it's usually pricier.

You won't find anything more versatile and easily reversible/changeable than paracord. It comes in every color and pattern imaginable, and you can build as many layers as you like to bulk up a grip. Alternately, a Stiff KISS could be wrapped with gutted paracord (remove the internal cords and just use the outer sheathe) to improve grip without adding appreciable bulk. I spent a few hours with the book All Wrapped Up In Paracord and started down the rabbit hole. Not a bad book, not the easiest to learn from, it's black and white, but it's cheap and has some amusing ideas and step-by-step instruction for knife handle wrapping. The Paracord Fusion Ties series has better pictures but focuses more on knots and braids. You could also try Planet Paracord, they usually host how-to videos that are more user friendly than the typical basement-dweller Youtuber.
