It is too big .
It is too light.
It is too sharp .
It is to easy to flip it open all night long .......

Seriously , I can find only one thing about this knife that concerns me . If you flick it open with authority it closes just fine . But if it just barely clicks open it seems to want to stick , or maybe "GALL"(Ti against the D2 ?). It's not something that worries me , just wondering if anyone else has experianced this . Maybe this is something that will "wear in" ? This is one spectacular knife , Thanks Will and DDR .....

Mine sticks too. A few times I really had to torque agains the lock to disengage it. Wore my thumb out tonight and I just got the knife this afternoon.

It is big and light and sharp and it does lock up tight...that is for sure :D

Hopefully it will break in.

I think I solved my own problem....It is such a large integral lock that I was trying to disengage it too far away from the tang. When I disengage right at the very end it snaps away quite easily.

Greg,

That sure didn't take you long to solve! You been in hiding? G2 and I haven't heard from you in a coons age!

Me too, got mine at 2 in the afternoon and my thumb need some down time. This knife has replaced my Dalton Cupid in rotation for the "Oh Sh1t!" knife.

I'd make one change...

Drill and tap the opposite end of the handle on the same side so you can reverse the clip and carry it tip up for "opening method #2".

;)

My MAXX kept getting worse about the sticking , so I took some 2000 gritt sand paper , went over the face where the locking bar contacts it about 10 passes with the paper , checking between each pass until it eased up enough to do it one handed with effort . Now it locks just as tight , but I can disengage it with one hand . Even after this episode , I think this is the best knife on the market .

EDD,
My knife continued to stick, too even after thinking I solved my problem. It got worse and worse, too. I just did what you said and it has helped considerably. Thanks for thinking of that....I sure as heck didn't.

I can't state this as fact, but I remember talking to Darrel about tight lock up on this knife. I believe he wanted a very tight lock up for safety. He didn't want to see that big friggin' blade disengage and hurt someone. He said the lock up can easily be tuned to he owners taste, as you have discovered.

It looks like Darrel and Will were lookin out for us.

AAAHHHIIIIIAAAAHHAAAAEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, just expressing my lack of patience in waiting to receive my Maxx. Now, back to your regularly scheduled program.

It's worth the wait......... The MAXX is as nice as any custom , with the added benifit of not worrying about that first scratch. Take this monster out and use the He11 out of it .

The only gripe is that I can't find out if it's legal to carry in Ky. I've carried my BK7 combat/utility without any eyes turning. However, there's something noticable about a monster folder like this. People just can't help but to notice it. I don't mind my MAXX 5.5 getting all the attention I just don't want some LEO to dicide he want's mine.:p Nothing against knife friendly, honest LEO. All I know is that I keep packing it and I still smile every time I look at it.:D :D
