Grippiness of G10 handle

I've decided to buy the RC-4 and like the idea of the orange handle for various reasons. I did a search and a few people thought it was not as grippy as they'd like. Slippery was mentioned. Others thought it was just fine.

How is the stickiness, or slipperiness, of the grip on the Esee RC-3/4 knives with the G10 handle?

it seems to change by batch of G10.
my 3 is perfect - not slick, not sandpaper, just grippy enough.
my 4 is slick. I'm going to mod it some to add some grip to it.
you see the same variation on other knives with g10 handles, especially folders.

This is correct..

+1, exactly the same, the 3 is perfect, the 4, gets a little slick at times. Both are still great, though. Moose

My RC3 with G10 is a little less grippy than I would like. Its a Rat Pack knife.

Its not slick, but i must say I think I prefer the micarta on my 4 better.

Well, it doesn't seem there is overwhelming confidence in the gripping power of the G10 handles. The reasons I am considering them is two help be seen in the woods when hiking and to locate it in the event it falls from my pack or its sheath.

Is there another way to skin this cat and still end up with orange handles?

I have a RC-3 in blaze/od. I've never had issues with slipping. I've had blood/fat, oil, water, soil, chocolate, peanut butter, creamy nougat (ok, kidding on the last one) on the handle and never lost my grip. You could always get the Blaze orange handle and modify the grip with a dremel as some have done. Check the photo thread at the top of the page.

modding the handle is going to be my solution - bristle wheel on a dremel was suggested to me this weekend.
if that doesn't work,. I'll either checker it or stipple it.

my three is great, did a test when I got it as the handle felt much smoother than I'd expected, lots of soap and cold water and it had really good grip for me.

My RC-3 is also great. Absolutly no Problem with the Grip.
But its with the Rat Cutlery logo on it.

How about some orange paracord work?

Maybe a fob or even just some orange cord from the handle hole. I know its not much but it may be enough to catch your eye. Several guys on here have fobs with box knot work that would be even better. The problem is, those get in my way (my opinion).

For example, some orange cord, like the black on these:

That's an excellent idea with the paracord. I never thought of that. Simple yet profound.

There would be a lot profane had I not found a way to get the RC-4! Not that I have found way it's profound.
