Gripping technique?

Just the little bit that I've used my new khukuri has me realizing that the handle is an entirely new beast than anything I'm used to. I'm sure that more use will have me instinctively holding the handle in the right spot, but in general does anyone have any pointers on griping a khukuri properly?

Hello Silent! The Gurkhas themselves may be your best point of information on how to grip a Kukri. There are no "secret-Super Kukri grips"out there. The Gurkhas brandish their Kukris so well because they were practically born with Kukris in their hands.
I think that what ever grip you find suits you will be ok.As long as you can keep all your digits with each slash of your neat looking Kukri. Cheers! Pipey

Good work guys. It's finally getting a bit more active around here! I'll try to post several articles in the next week or so. Specifically, I'll write up a Balance K. mini-review and (I hope) the final segment in the chakma hardening saga :D
